Updated Residency Registration Process
As part of the new rule changes, Little League has modified the residency document requirements into three categories in order to prove a residence. Beginning immediately, residence shall be established and supported by documents containing the full residence which includes parent(s) or guardian(s) name, street address, city, state and zip code information, dated or in force between February 1, 2018 (previous year) and February 1, 2019 (current year), from one or more documents from each of the three Groups outlined in the 2019 Rulebook. Also, a school report card or progress report may no longer be used as a School Enrollment Eligibility document. Players who established a residence or school attendance for regular season and/or tournament prior to the 2016-2017 season using the Player Verification Form, and can produce the form with proper proofs and signatures, will be grandfathered and will NOT need to complete a new Player Verification Form. New Residence Eligibility Requirements
In an effort to accommodate Little Leaguers® playing with their classmates, and ease the burden on parents and guardians, Little League® recently amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located.
For a child to be a Little Leaguer®, eligibility must first be established by way of residency inside the boundaries of a local Little League®, or the location of the school where the child attends is located inside a local league’s boundaries that is approved by Little League Baseball, Incorporated.
